The Troy Arts Alliance was created by local artists who are part of a thriving underground art scene in Troy and its nearby communities.  As artists, they sensed the needs of fellow artists and also envisioned a bright future for their community.  

The Troy Arts Alliance's mission is to provide a communal presence to help local artists thrive and unlock the artistic potential of every resident.   The Founding Members are:  Loretta Wray, Diana Brower, Barbara Nosker, Pamela Ridenour, Jan & Jim Lendino, Evelyn Mahrt, Beth Arthur, Nancy Rafferty and Anne Reed.  

VISION OF THE TROY ARTS ALLIANCE;

• Establish a "home" in charming downtown Troy, Ohio to provide: a gallery for local artists to sell their work; artist studio space; and an area for free "ins" will be held so that artists can share their creative passion with the public.
• Encourage the collaboration of ideas and the sharing of information among all local arts organizations.
• Promote professional artist development through monthly Artist Meetings focused towards mentoring, networking, and the discussion of pertinent topics that Artist Members would like to explore.
• Unleash the creative spirit of the community!  Everyone is creative in their own way and by sharing our creative passion, we hope to help everyone find this part of themselves.  Active use of imagination = increased self-esteem, inner peace and a relaxed mind.
• Provide opportunities for artists to "give back" to the community through creating "Arts Outreach" projects  
• Attract more artists and arts-related businesses to downtown Troy.  Our downtown shops and restaurants will all benefit economically by the addition of the Troy Arts Alliance.  Troy will become an arts destination and an increase in tourism will result.

MULTI-FACETED EXPRESSION;
The Troy Arts Alliance seeks to promote many facets of the arts, including (but not limited to):  

• VISUAL ARTS - painting/drawing, photography, sculpture
• PERFORMING ARTS - drama, music, dance
• FINE CRAFT - clay art, basket weaving, fiber art, wood art, jewelry, metal art
• LITERARY ARTS - writers of novels, poetry, short stories
